Anamu Leaf


The Latin name for Anamu plant is Petiveria alliacea. It’s an herbaceous shrub

with simple leaves that alternate and determinate inflorescences. It’s leaves are pinnate

in the first order and netted the second order. Depending on geography, their

reproductivity peaks during different portions of a year. However, Anamu is capable

of reproducing throughout the whole year. In Peru it usually peaks from July to January.

The Latin name for Cacao is Theobroma cacao. It’s an evergreen tree with 3.9 - 15.7 inches

long and 2.0 - 7.9 inches wide leaves and small up to 1 inch in diameter flowers.

The flowers have pink calyx and grow in clusters on the trunk and branches that are older.

There’s a range of products derived and made from the fruit seeds (cacao beans) and pulp.

A compound called theobromine is the fruit's active constituent and is similar to caffeine.

The Latin name for Camu Camu is Myrciaria dubia. It can also be referred to as camucamu,

cacari, or camocamo. Myrciaria dubia is a small bushy tree that usually grows by the rivers

in the Amazon forest in Peru. It can reach up to 5 meters (16.4 feet) in height

and is known as high source of vitamin C. Vitamin C is mostly stored in the Camu Camu fruit

which usually has red and purple colors and looks similar to cherry.

The Latin name for Cat’s Claw is Uncaria tomentosa. It’s a liana that can grow

up to 100 feet long. Uncaria tomentosa uses it’s thorns that look like

the claws of a cat to climb. It’s leaves have elliptic form and smooth edge,

and grow in opposing pairs. Cat’s Claw originates in the Amazonian rainforest

and grows mostly in the tropical areas of South America.

Chanca Piedra (Stone Breaker)


The Latin name for Chanca Piedra is Phyllanthus niruri. It’s a tropical plant

that is also known by the names stone breaker, gale of the wind, and seed-under-leaf.

Chanca Piedra is related to the spurges and belongs to the genus Phyllanthus

of the family Phyllanthaceae. It usually grows 20 - 28 inches long and has ascending

herbaceous branches with pale green flowers that are often flushed with red.

The fruits grow in the form of tiny,smooth capsules containing seeds.

The Latin name for Ginger is Zingiber officinale. It’s an herbaceous perennial

that has annual false stems made of the rolled bases of leaves.

Pseudostems can grow about 3.3 feet long and bear narrow leaf blades.

It is a flowering plant with the inflorescences that bear flowers with pale yellow petals

and purple edges. The inflorescences arise directly from the rhizome on separate shoots.

The Latin name for Goldenberry is Physalis peruviana. It’s a plant species

of the genus Physalis that originates in Peru. It’s a perennial that develops

into a diffusely branched shrub that can reach 5.2 feet in height. Goldenberry has velvety,

heart-shaped leaves and small bell-shaped flowers up to 0.79 inches in diameter.

The fruit is a round, smooth berry, resembling a miniature yellow tomato

0.49 - 0.79 inches wide.

The Latin name for Graviola is Annona muricata. It is also commonly known as soursop.

It’s a small, upright, evergreen tree that can grow up to 30 feet tall.

Its young branches are hairy. Leaves are oblong to oval, 3.1 to 6.3 inches long

and 1.2 to 2.8 inches wide. They are a glossy dark green with no hairs above,

and paler and minutely hairy to no hairs below. The leaf stalks are

0.16 to 0.51 inches long and without hairs.

Guarana Seed


The Latin name for Guarana is Paullinia cupana. It s a climbing plant in the family Sapindaceae,

native to the Amazon basin. Guarana has large leaves and clusters of flowers

and is best known for the seed from its fruit, which are about the size of a coffee bean.

The color of the fruit ranges from brown to red and it contains black seeds

that are partly covered by white arils.

The Latin name for Lucuma is Pouteria lucuma. It is a species of tree

in the family Sapotaceae native to Peru. The tree can grow up to 65.6 feet

and it’s is cultivated for its fruit, the lúcuma. Pouteria lucuma has grey-brown,

fissured bark, which produces a milky white exudate. The end of branchlets

and the petioles are covered with short, brown hairs. The leaves are simple.

They grow up to 10 inches long and group at the end of the branches.

The Latin name for Sangre de Grado is Croton lechleri. It’s a medium sized

evergreen tree that belongs to the family Euphorbiaceae. It can grow

up to 60 feet tall and only about 1 foot in diameter. The leaves are large,

alternate cordate (heart-shaped), bright green and 6 - 12 inches in width and length.

The flowers are greenish-white, white or amber, which produce small,

three-part capsule fruits that appear on a thin spike that measures 12 - 20 inches.
